otoh, it's better off white parents who are able to defend that concept of "rights" over their children. poorer people, especially lower income people of color and their kids? Cps will remove kids from a home for being poor basically and then - give foster parents money we could have given the parents. giving foster parents money for disability accommodations after taking a child because the kid's parents couldn't afford those accommodations is a common thing.

child poverty doubled in recent years due to policy decisions under a Democratic president who hasn't fought for poor and working families. and kids removed to foster parents and situations make kids more likely to be pressed into the carceral system, which the Democrats are entirely complicit in. poorer schools similarly fail and abuse kids (cops and other security in schools literally hitting, cuffing, etc kids, and things like oppressive military recruitment). there should be no such thing as lunch money debt etc. in the US, society/government itself isn't such a great "parent."

i absolutely, as a kid of poor white parents, didn't tell anyone about abuse because it was the simple reality that (a) a lot of the abuse was due to the fact that my parents were poor and mentally ill and had little to no support and i knew this (b) i knew the alternatives were worse. i'd seen my brothers in those situations.

society abuses kids. kids are unsafe in unjust, exploitative, -ist societies.

I think the hardest part about addressing child abuse is getting people to acknowledge, not just intellectually but actually responding accordingly, is that the biggest threat to children, the biggest risk of abuse, is family and parents.

it is of course most often parents who are crowing about needing to protect children (often against far smaller threats than family), and pointing out that they are, statistically, the biggest threat to their kids is not gonna be received well.

Omg, my youngest 8-year-old sister wrote the most adorable little story about "Grace and the Magic Spiral". It's utterly confusing and bamboozling and delightful and filled with grammar mistakes to the brim. It's putting my twenty-three chapter fic to shame. My OCs are nothing compared to hers. Because I thought of Dora and I realized. That. She could look like that. And. She has a friendship bracelet. That is different to Dora's. So. She (Dora). Will. Get. Jealous.

I wanted to be creative and I thought about Grace and the Magic Spiral. But in Ms Teacher's room, I saw an image of the spiral. There was a screen and there was like an image of a spiral *makes a spiral gesture*

It reminds me of Dora.

"Why do you like Dora so much?"

Because she teacher, like, to learn lessons. And, you know, and she like says "no swiping" and she says to always be nice and give your friends something and always be nice and not to do anything wrong, like swiping. So she says "Swiper no swiping, Swiper no swiping, Swiper no swiping" three times. *holds up three fingers*

Because she forces us- she forces my classmates to like write a narrative which is a made up or real life (story). So we listen to her because she's the best teacher.

okay so im seeing a lot of theories about whats going on in pesterquest wrt the timeline, so heres my take:

it’s not a classic time travel scenario, its a “break reality” scenario.

Homestuck has always been kind of a “game,” right? and retconning is a bit like “cheating.” when john did it, it was still like, “supposed” to happen, not within sburb, but within Homestuck. because he’s a character. but mspa reader doesn’t exist within homestuck. they, WE, are the PLAYER of Homestuck. so when they stuck their hand in the juju, what happened? they CRASHED the game. it literally shows us a bug report.

and what happens when you break the code of a game to wind up in areas you aren’t supposed to? the narrative doesn’t make sense anymore. you skip over a quest that an npc still thanks you for. your sworn enemy you never saw still ends up in the final battle. that’s how speedruns work. mspa reader clipped through the floor and now the game (again, Homestuck, not SBURB) is just awkwardly trying to keep the script going by having jack and prospit and the trolls and everything still work. except they dont work. which is why we broke the transportalizer.

I anticipate several more glitches in the future, who knows maybe random characters from friendsim will suddenly show up hundreds of years after theyre supposed to.

Ooooookay my Tumblr stopped giving me problems, am back }⁠:⁠‑⁠)

I'm gonna start with the concept idea first: April being a goddess undercover on earth she met a lot of people and of course she fell in love, here we have Sunita a Yokai girl who lived in the first version of the Hidden City as a Yokai. They fell in love but unfortunately Sunita will be killed by the human invasion that destroyed the city.

After that April has fallen in to a sad state where she didn't talk to anyone until she met the turtles. Centuries pass and now she definitely better and starts going into the human world more, and while taking a walk into a park with Mayhem (disguised as a god) she stumbles across a girl in which she immediately recognise her past love (maybe coincidence and her is called also Sunita) they once again hit it off and at one point the mortal girl reveals herself as a mutant just to be much more shocked that April tells her that she's a goddess.

For her role in the pantheon I think Sunita can be placed as a Nymph, and she as to do with disguise or something

Ooooookay. Look, this is probably something I should address with my Remnant! Chiaki comic, because good lord… I swear, people really do like to throw this stuff around. Not that this person isn’t polite or anything, but I definitely wanna clarify a few things in regards to my AU, fics, comics, art and blog since people send me stuff like this.

1. What is happening? Well it’s a cover to my AU comic, Game of Despair, where D3 Chiaki survived and became a Remnant of Despair like everyone else. So if we go by canon logic where Chiaki waited over a year or so for Izuru/Hajime to pop up, she would have died at around 17 ish. So going further, like all the other Despairs, this would be after graduation where she is an adult. 18 + and all.

2. Because I can’t emphasize this enough, this is an aged up evil Despair version of Chiaki. Nothing to do with canon aside what I use to build the comic.

3. She’s a fictional character. Not real. How can I sexualize a minor when she isn’t one?

4. That’s a cleavage line. Not that horny in my opinion. But I’m a girl and I have huge boobs so... yeah, I draw like this. There’s some cleavage. It’s out there. Defined by one line. So? I had to see Nagito’s pale ass naked in D3. Just saying.

5. Her entire “cleavage out” look is a reference to Junko and her outfit. She even has the undergarment showing like how Junko does in the games.

6. About the ship. Indeed they share a body but seem to be vastly different personalities until Hajime accepts Izuru and they combine in canon. So the Hinanami part comes in where Hajime wants to come out and see Chiaki again, even being banished to the recesses of Izuru’s mind. KomaHina is admittedly harder but that’s what headcanons are for. Izuru is also curious about Chiaki and Nagito clearly is aroused/attracted to Izuru. So there we go. One big foursome even tho two are just two personalities in the same body.

And lastly, I’d like to just say this. I am an adult. I write smutty fics (see my Replenishing Hope fic), do somewhat sexy fanart (I mean I never got the chance to dabble in porn because of the porn ban of tumblr. Sadness.) and I make sexual headcanons. If this makes you uncomfortable in any case way or if you feel you are too young to engage with this type of material, I urge you to unfollow or block me. Protect your mental health. That’s all good. My tastes are not universal. The internet is what you make of it in my opinion and people need to be safe.

That being said, Game of Despair is not going to be overtly sexual. Sure there’s some sexual tension or attraction, you know, like the game, but that’s it. But ultimately, please be safe and happy in your fandom spaces. I really just wanted to address this with a post and make sure I was clear just in case people perceived me as stepping over their boundaries with my content. If anyone has any questions or needs to correct me on anything, the ask box is all yours. :)

I like the post you reblogged just now by bisexyenby but for future reference about them... they're big on identity policing and regularly claim that being pan is "yikes", disgusting, and inherently biphobic, to the point where "I just had to unfollow someone because it turned out they were pansexual anyway here's all the reasons why being pan is bad and not valid" is their pinned post so... yeah. Not saying you have to delete the post or anything just future reference

Here’s the thing: if a post I reblog has actual dog whistles or stuff like that in it, or something transphobic or biphobic or racist or whatever that I didn’t notice, please tell me.

If you just don’t like the OP--for whatever reason, even if it’s a completely valid reason!--don’t bother.

Because I do not and never will look up people I reblog things from to see if they’re problematic. I don’t. I would need to spend waaaaaaaay more time on tumblr than I have available, and if I had to do that in order to reblog stuff, I would probably decide that it wasn’t worth it to be on tumblr. I mean, you can tell me “this person did x” but I’m not going to remember the name in ten minutes even if I try, much less next week, and then there’s the fact that I’ve seen too many cases of “this person is terrible because ___” where it turns out the person making the accusation was lying through their teeth and/or really twisting things to attack someone they didn’t like. Especially when the accusations are made anonymously. The amount of research needed to make sure that nobody problematic ever crosses my dash is just not worth it.

If I’m not following someone (and I sure as fuck am not following anybody into identity policing), then the only thing I care about really is if the specific post I am looking at contains content I want on my blog. Reblogging a post doesn’t mean “I approve of this person and think they are right in everything they say or do!” it means “I think this specific thing they said is interesting.” And sometimes it doesn’t even mean that; sometimes it just means “oooh, look at the pretty picture!” or “I want to reblog this with image descriptions, check the notes, yay, someone has done the work for me!”

If I didn’t notice something wrong or bad in that specific post I reblogged, please let me know. It happens! I am not all-wise or all-knowing, and sometimes I miss a dog whistle or whatever, and I’d rather know so I can fix that specific reblog.

Kindly do not ever send me an ask about someone in general being a bad person. It will not get the response you want. Especially do not send it anon. I am not and will never curate my dash the way you want, and if that’s a problem for you, please unfollow me. Or block the people you don’t want to see and they shouldn’t show up on your dash even if I reblog them.
